All about 2LO
2LO was the callsign of the second radio station to regularly broadcast in the United Kingdom (the first was 2MT) and began broadcasting on 11 May 1922, for one hour a day. The station was located on the seventh floor of Marconi House in London‘s Strand, opposite Somerset House.
So why the name 2LO for a design company?
Company director Frank Heritage is a keen radio enthusiast, and when looking for a short domain name discovered 2LO was available! As a graphic and new media design company, what better than one of the original ‘new media’ callsigns – from what was at the time, a new sensation!
When the company started in 2003 the emphasis was on graphic design for print, but included conference speaker support and some event design. As the company developed there was more call for electronic media design and 2LO now provide design for projection of sets and AV in theatres; conference AV facilities; show recording and live streaming for events.
As well as logo design and page layout, our skillset includes animation with Adobe After Effects and video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro. Live events are mixed using a Black Magic Design ATEM vision mixer, with up to six cameras and graphics combined to provide the best audience experience.
